The first two parts of the ILA should be jointly completed by the re-entrant and preceptor, preferably on the first day of the program. The re-entrant should do some preparation before the initial meeting by reading the ILA questions and thinking about learning needs, as this will assist the re-entrant to identify their learning goals.
