This Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") is by and between the County Commissioners of Caroline County, Maryland, a body politic and corporate and a political subdivision of the State of Maryland (the "County"), The Office of the Sheriff of Caroline County, an independent, elected State Constitutional officer whose office is funded by the County (the "Sheriff '); the Superintendent of Caroline County Schools, an appointed official in accordance with Section § 4-201 of the Education Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland (Superintendent); and the Board of Education of Caroline County, local County Board of Education established in accordance with the § 3-103, Subtitle 3A of the Education Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland (the "Board").
