Date of Issue January 2017 To Headteachers of all schools Purpose of Document To inform Headteachers and governors of the Facilities Agreement for Accredited Representatives of Recognised Employee Organisations which has been agreed between those Employee Organisations and the LA. Summary of Main Points This agreement replaces the previous agreement in the LA Personnel Handbook.The agreement sets out the facilities that should be made available to accredited representatives of recognised Employee Organisations.The amendments to the previous agreement take account of the changed responsibilities of the LA and Governing Bodies set out in the Schools’ Standards and Framework Act.It is a model of good practice, complies with Employment Legislationand will contribute to good industrial relations in schools.
