Advanced life support level 2 definition

Advanced life support level 2 means transportation by ground ambulance vehicle and the provision of medically necessary supplies and services, including one of the following:
Advanced life support level 2 means transportation by a ground ambulance vehicle licensed by the Department of Health with the provision of medically necessary supplies and services, including at least three separate administrations of one or more medications by intravenous push/bolus or by continuous infusion, excluding crystalloid fluids; or ground ambulance transportation with the provision of medically necessary supplies and services, as well as the provision of at least one of the following procedures: manual defibrillation/cardioversion, endotracheal intubation, central venous line, cardiac pacing, chest decompression, surgical airway, or intraosseous line.

  • Advanced life support means special services designed to provide definitive prehospital emergency medical care, including, but not limited to, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, cardiac monitoring, cardiac defibrillation, advanced airway management, intravenous therapy, administration of specified drugs and other medicinal preparations, and other specified techniques and procedures administered by authorized personnel under the direct supervision of a base hospital as part of a local EMS system at the scene of an emergency, during transport to an acute care hospital, during interfacility transfer, and while in the emergency department of an acute care hospital until responsibility is assumed by the emergency or other medical staff of that hospital.
