Class size definition

Class size is a number agreed upon by the District and the Association. See Article VIII – Class Size.
Class size is defined in Section D of this Article.

  • Class size for training-day based courses shall not normally exceed twenty-two (22) students.

  • Class size maximums (Appendix E) shall be adjusted by mutual agreement between each college president and UF vice-president and shall be revenue neutral at each college.

  • Class size in each grade level and subject area of each school shall be equalized within eighteen (18) student days after the opening of school.

  • Class size maximums in an elementary school may be exceeded by up to four (4) students when there is no additional classroom space in the school, or if all classes at a grade level are at maximum and no reasonable combination class can be formed, and exceeding the class size limit will eliminate the need to hire an additional teacher.

  • Class size shall be consistent with requirements for eligible programs for which the District actually receives State funding for class size reduction.

Class size means the number of pupils assigned to a regu- lar classroom teacher on the 3rd Friday of September.

Class size means the number of students actually attending and, during the initial meeting of the class only, any other student who has requested in writing that he or she begin attendance at the second meeting of the class if the faculty employee believes that the request is justified. “Minimum class size” means the smallest number of students actually attending that shall, under provisions of Sections 9.1 and 9.3, allow a class to continue for the length of the term. “Maximum class size” means the largest number of students the Board may enroll in a class under provisions of Section 9.1 and 9.3.
