Geotechnical Exploration. The term “Geotechnical Exploration,” also referred to as “Sub-bottom Sampling,” or “Geotechnical Testing,” is used to collectively refer to site specific sediment and underlying geologic data acquired from the seafloor and the sub- bottom and includes geotechnical surveys utilizing deep borings, vibracores, and cone penetration tests.
