Local Ombudsman Program definition

Local Ombudsman Program means either a program of the AAA or its Subcontractor that is designated by the State Ombudsman to carry out the duties of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program with respect to the Planning and Service Area. The selection is in accordance with policies and procedures established by the State Ombudsman and which meets the State Ombudsman’s criteria for designation and concurrence.   • Ensure residents in the service area of the Local Ombudsman Program have regular, timely access to State Certified Ombudsman Representatives and timely responses to complaints and requests for assistance.

  • Approved abuse education training program means a training program using a curriculum approved by the abuse education review panel of the department of public health or a training program offered by a hospital, a professional organization for physicians, or the department of human services, the department of education, an area education agency, a school district, the Iowa law enforcement academy, an Iowa college or university, or a similar state agency.
