Section 26.1 The Relief Shift Position is to fill in for shift vacancies caused by personal time, vacation time, training, disability leaves, other leaves described in Article 16 of the contract, and those times in the dispatch center which may require a third telecommunicator.
Section 26.2 The Relief Shift Position shall be chosen by seniority.
The Relief Shift Position shall be scheduled no less than seven calendar days in advance, and may be changed by the Employer with a no less than seven calendar days notice.
The lowest seniority employee shall be assigned the Relief Shift Position if not chosen by an employee with more seniority.
The Relief Shift Position schedule may be changed to avoid the payment of overtime pay.
