SYSTEM CONTROL SEGMENT definition
SYSTEM CONTROL SEGMENT means the various ground-based sites, equipment and facilities used to manage and control the individual space vehicles of the SPACE SEGMENT and the communications links between the segments of the IRIDIUM SYSTEMS. The SYSTEM CONTROL SEGMENT includes the SNOC (Satellite Network Operations Center), TTACs (Telemetry Tracking and Control Stations), MTC (Message Termination Controllers), ODN (Operational Data Network) and the OSN (Operational Support Network).
SYSTEM CONTROL SEGMENT refers to the equipment and facilities used to manage and control the individual satellites of a Space Segment, and the communications links of a satellite constellation.
