Usage Based definition

Usage Based means a license to an Enterprise Product that is metered and billed based on consumption, such as by the hour, and is inclusive of certain Enterprise Support for the duration of the license.
Usage Based means a Subscription that is billed according to the Customer’s actual usage.
Usage Based means, for us, that the study is based primarily on data from authentic (attested) language use. It appears that many scholars who call their studies ‘usage-based’ continue to use almost exclusively made-up sentences in fictive contexts. For some of them, the inclusion of frequency-of-use considerations seems to be only criterion for being ‘usage-based’. For an overview, see Croft & Cruse 2004: 291ff.
