Common use of Absence without Approval Clause in Contracts

Absence without Approval. An Employee who is absent from employment for ten (10) consecutive days without approval from the College: (i) shall be deemed to have resigned the Employee's position effective the first day of absence; (ii) may be reinstated if the Employee establishes to the satisfaction of the College that the absence arose from a cause beyond the Employee's control, and it was not possible for the Employee to notify the College of the reason for the absence.
