Acting Assignment Pay. 181. Employees assigned by the Appointing Officer or its designee to perform a substantial portion of the duties and responsibilities of a higher classification shall receive compensation at a higher salary if all of the following conditions are met: a. the assignment shall be in writing; 183. b. the position to which the employee is assigned must be a budgeted position.

An employee assigned in writing by the Appointing Officer (or designee) to perform the normal duties and responsibilities of a higher classification of a budgeted position shall be entitled to acting assignment pay, no earlier than the sixth (6th) consecutive work day of such an assignment and shall be retroactive to the first (1st) day of the assignment.

Acting Assignment Pay. ‌ 141. 1. The Appointing Officer assigns duties to employees covered by this Agreement. Represented employees assigned by the Appointing Officer or designated to perform the full range of essential functions of a position in a higher job code shall receive compensation at a higher salary if all of the following conditions are met: a. The assignment shall be in writing. b. The position to which the employee is assigned must be a budgeted position. c. The employee is assigned to perform the duties of a higher job code for longer than ten (10) consecutive working days.

Under the following conditions the classification of Community Services Officer shall receive the above-described compensation for the higher classification effective the first day of service: a. When determined fully qualified to perform dispatcher-jailer duties and the acting appointment has been authorized by the Chief of Police; b. When working out of class as part of the basic staffing patterns in the jail or dispatch center; or c. An assignment made to cover relief of personnel in the jail or dispatch center, which is for a minimum of one eight (8) hour shift.
