Acting Positions. If an employee is temporarily appointed to a higher category, he/she shall be paid at the rate of that category commencing with the first day. Acting appointments may not be made as a direct result of absence due to vacation during the summer vacation period.

b) Employees promoted to ‘acting’ positions in a higher rated classification or in a higher classification level shall be placed at the experience step at which they realize at least an 8% increase in pay, in accordance with Article 10.
