Common use of Additional Unpaid Leave Clause in Contracts

Additional Unpaid Leave. If an Employee wishes to take an additional period of unpaid leave, the Employee should apply to their supervisor in writing requesting such leave and setting out the proposed start and end dates of the unpaid leave period. The Employer may then, in its discretion, grant all or part of the unpaid leave request, depending upon the Employee’s individual circumstances and the Employer’s operational considerations.
