Common use of Adjusting Complaints Clause in Contracts

Adjusting Complaints. a) It is the mutual desire of the parties that employee complaints be heard, dealt with and resolved as quickly as possible. b) An employee has no grievance until they have first given their immediate exempt supervisor an opportunity of adjusting their complaint. Such complaint must be discussed with the immediate exempt supervisor within five (5) working days after the employee became aware or ought reasonably to have been aware of the occurrence of the circumstances giving rise to the complaint. When discussing such a complaint with the immediate exempt supervisor, the employee may be accompanied by a Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or a Union Official if the employee so chooses.
