Advancement on the Salary Scale. For unit employees to advance to the next step on the salary scale on July 1, the date of their official appointment must be no later than the prior January 1st for 12-month employees, or the prior February 1 for 10-month employees. Any person whose official appointment date is later than those specified may advance to the next step of the salary scale on July 1 of the following year.
