Analysis of Specimens Clause Samples

The "Analysis of Specimens" clause establishes the procedures and responsibilities for examining and testing physical samples, such as materials, products, or biological specimens, within a contractual or research context. Typically, this clause outlines who is authorized to conduct the analysis, the standards or methods to be used, and how the results will be reported or shared between parties. By clearly defining these processes, the clause ensures that specimen analysis is conducted consistently and reliably, minimizing disputes over testing methods or results and supporting informed decision-making based on objective data.
Analysis of Specimens. A. The analysis of each specimen shall be done in accordance with procedures adopted by the State Toxicology Laboratory. These procedures shall include but not be limited to security of the test specimens, chain of custody, metabolite cut- off levels and the issuance of test reports. B. Candidates for law enforcement employment are not required to submit a medication information form with their specimen. Therefore, if a candidate’s specimen tests positive, the NJIT PD, following notification from the State Toxicology Laboratory, must have the candidate complete the medication information form. Once the form has been completed, the agency is responsible for transmitting the form to the Laboratory. A review of the form will be conducted by the medical review officer as outlined above in addition to the testing outlined.
