Application for approval. 3.1. The application for approval of a vehicle type with regard to the AEBS shall be submitted by the vehicle manufacturer or by his authorised representative.
3.2. It shall be accompanied by the documents mentioned below in triplicate:
3.2.1. A description of the vehicle type with regard to the items mentioned in paragraph 2.4., together with a documentation package which gives access to the basic design of the AEBS and the means by which it is linked to other vehicle systems or by which it directly controls output variables. The numbers and/or symbols identifying the vehicle type shall be specified.
3.3. A vehicle representative of the vehicle type to be approved shall be submitted to the Technical Service conducting the approval tests.

Application for approval. 3.1. The application for approval of a vehicle type with regard to sound shall be submitted by its manufacturer or by his duly accredited representative.
3.2. It shall be accompanied by the undermentioned documents and the following particulars in triplicate:
3.2.1. A description of the vehicle type with regard to the items mentioned in paragraph 2.2. above. The numbers and/or symbols identifying the engine type and the vehicle type shall be specified;
3.2.2. A list of the components, duly identified, constituting the sound reduction system;
3.2.3. A drawing of the assembled sound reduction system and an indication of its position on the vehicle;
3.2.4. Detailed drawings of each component to enable it to be easily located and identified, and a specification of the materials used.
3.2.5. A technical information document including the information as outlined in Annex 1, Appendix 2.
3.3. In the case of paragraph 2.
Application for approval. 3.1. The application for approval of a vehicle type with regard to the installation of its lighting and light-signalling devices shall be submitted by the manufacturer or his duly accredited representative.
3.2. It shall be accompanied by the following documents and particulars in triplicate:
3.2.1. A description of the vehicle type with regard to the items mentioned in paragraphs 2.2.1. to 2.2.4. above, together with the restrictions on loading, particularly the maximum permissible load in the boot;
3.2.2. A list of the devices prescribed by the manufacturer for the lighting and light- signalling assembly. The list may include several types of device for each operation. Each type shall be duly identified (component, type-approval ▇▇▇▇, name of manufacturer, etc.), in addition the list may include in respect of each function the additional annotation "or equivalent devices";
3.2.3. A layout drawing of the lighting and light-signalling equipment as a whole, showing the position of the various devices on the vehicle;
3.2.4. If necessary, in order to verify the conformity to the prescriptions of the present Regulation, layout drawing(s) for each individual lamp showing the illuminating surface as defined in paragraph 2.9., the light-emitting surface as defined in paragraph 2.8., the axis of reference as defined in paragraph 2.11. and the centre of reference as defined in paragraph 2.12. This information is not necessary in the case of the rear registration plate lamp (paragraph 2.7.13.);
3.2.5. The application shall include a statement of the method used for the definition of the apparent surface (see paragraph 2.10.);
3.2.6. Where an AFS is fitted on the vehicle, the applicant shall submit a detailed description providing the following information:
3.2.6.1. The lighting functions and modes for which the AFS has been approved;
3.2.6.2. The related AFS control signals and their technical characteristics as defined according to Annex 10 of Regulation No. 123;
3.2.6.3. The provisions being applied to adapt automatically the front lighting functions and modes according to paragraph 6.22.7.4. of this Regulation;
3.2.6.4. Special instruction, if any, for the inspection of the light sources and the visual observation of the beam;
3.2.6.5. The documents according to paragraph 6.22.9.2. of this Regulation;
3.2.6.6. The lamps that are grouped or combined with or reciprocally incorporated in the AFS;
3.2.6.7. Lighting units which are designed to comply with the requirem...
Application for approval. 3.1. The application for approval of a vehicle type with regard to the Advanced Emergency Braking System shall be submitted by the vehicle manufacturer or by his authorised representative.
3.2. It shall be accompanied by the documents mentioned below in triplicate:
3.2.1. A description of the vehicle type with regard to the items mentioned in paragraph 2.4., together with a documentation package which gives access to the basic design of the AEBS and the means by which it is linked to other vehicle systems or by which it directly controls output variables. The numbers and/or symbols identifying the vehicle type shall be specified.
3.3. A vehicle representative of the vehicle type to be approved shall be submitted to the Technical Service conducting the approval tests.
Application for approval. 3.1. The application for approval of an IWVTA type with regard to IWVTA shall be submitted by the manufacturer to the approval authority of the Contracting Party according to the provisions of Schedule 3 of the 1958 Agreement.
3.2. It shall be accompanied by the following documentation:
3.2.1. The information folder containing the information required under Annex 5;
3.2.2. Type approval certificates as required by paragraph 5.1.2. (U-IWVTA) or paragraph 5.1.3. (L-IWVTA) below.
3.3. The application for approval and the accompanying documentation shall be drawn up in English language. The manufacturer shall also provide translation of the documentation into the language requested by the Contracting Party processing the application. Type approval certificates accompanying the application do not need to be translated.
3.4. (A) vehicle(s) representative of the IWVTA type to be approved shall be submitted to the approval authority or its designated technical service responsible for conducting the inspections of Annex 3.
3.5. The manufacturer shall assign a unique type designation to each IWVTA type within an IWVTA class.
3.6. All variants and versions within one IWVTA type shall be covered by the same application for IWVTA.
3.7. Applications for all IWVTA types within one IWVTA class shall be filed to the same approval authority.
Application for approval. 3.1. The application for approval of a vehicle type with regard to reduced audibility shall be submitted by its manufacturer or by his duly accredited representative.
3.2. It shall be accompanied by the undermentioned documents and the following particulars:
3.2.1. A description of the vehicle type with regard to the items mentioned in paragraph 2.3. above. The numbers and/or symbols identifying the engine type and the vehicle type shall be specified;
3.2.2. If applicable, a list of the components constituting the AVAS;
3.2.3. If applicable, a drawing of the assembled AVAS and an indication of its position on the vehicle;
3.3. In the case of paragraph 2.3. the single vehicle, representative of the type in question, will be selected by the vehicle manufacturer conducting approval tests, in accordance with the Technical Service.
3.4. The Type Approval Authority shall verify the existence of satisfactory arrangements for ensuring effective control of the conformity of production before type approval is granted.
Application for approval. 3.1. The application for approval of a type of Enhanced Child Restraint System shall be submitted by the holder of the trade mark or by his duly accredited representative, and follow the type approval scheme described in Annex 11.
3.2. The application for approval, relating to each type of Enhanced Child Restraint System, shall be accompanied by:
3.2.1. A technical description of the Enhanced Child Restraint System, specifying the straps and other materials used together with the predicted and reproducible behaviour of load limiting devices. It shall be accompanied by drawings of the parts making up the Enhanced Child Restraint System and in the case of retractors, installation instructions for these retractors and their sensing devices, declaration on toxicity (para.
6.3.1.1. of this Regulation) and flammability (para.
6.3.1.2. of this Regulation), the drawings shall show the position intended for a single approval number and additional symbol(s) in relation to the circle of the approval mark;
3.2.2. The applicant shall indicate the kind of application:
(a) Application for an i-Size Enhanced Child Restraint Systems; or
(b) Application for a Specific vehicle ISOFIX; or
(c) Application for a i-Size booster seat Enhanced Child Restraint System; or
(d) Application for a specific vehicle booster seat Enhanced Child Restraint System;
(e) Application for a Universal Enhanced Child Restraint Systems, or
(f) Application for Specific vehicle belted Enhanced Child Restraint Systems; or
Application for approval. 3.1. The application for approval of a vehicle type shall be submitted by the vehicle manufacturer or by his duly accredited representative.
3.2. It shall be accompanied by the following documents in triplicate and the following particulars:
3.2.1. A detailed description of the vehicle type with regard to the design of the seats, their anchorages, and their adjustment, displacement and locking systems;
3.2.1.1. A detailed description and/or drawings of the partitioning system, if applicable.
3.2.2. Drawings, on an appropriate scale and in sufficient detail, of the seats, their anchorages on the vehicle, and their adjustment, displacement and locking systems.
3.2.3. In the case of a seat with a detachable head restraint:
3.2.3.1. A detailed description of the head restraint, specifying in particular the nature of the padding material or materials;
3.2.3.2. A detailed description of the location, the type of support and the attachments for mounting the head restraint on the seat.
3.2.4. In the case of a separate head restraint:
3.2.4.1. A detailed description of the head restraint, specifying in particular the nature of the padding material or materials;
3.2.4.2. A detailed description of the location, and the attachments for fitting the head restraint to the structure of the vehicle.
3.3. The following shall be submitted to the Technical Service responsible for the approval tests:
3.3.1. A vehicle representative of the vehicle type to be approved or the parts of the vehicle which the Technical Service deems necessary for approval tests;
3.3.2. An additional set of the seats with which the vehicle is equipped, with their anchorages.
3.3.3. For vehicles with seats fitted or capable of being fitted with head restraints, in addition to the requirements set out in paragraphs 3.3.1. and 3.3.2. above:
3.3.3.1. In the case of detachable head restraints: an additional set of seats, fitted with head restraints, with which the vehicle is equipped, together with their anchorages.
3.3.3.2. In the case of separate head restraints: an additional set of the seats with which the vehicle is equipped, with their anchorages, an additional set of the corresponding head restraints and the part of the vehicle structure to which the head restraint in fitted, or a complete structure.
Application for approval. 3.1.1. The application for type approval shall be submitted by the holder of the trade name or ▇▇▇▇ or by his duly accredited representative.
3.1.2. The application shall be accompanied by the following documents (in triplicate) and sample(s):
3.1.2.1. drawings, sufficiently detailed to permit identification of the type and, if applicable, of the class of the lamp, showing:
(a) Geometrically in what position(s) the lamp(s) and/or the lighting units may be mounted on the vehicle in relation to ground and vehicle longitudinal median plane;
(b) The axis of observation to be taken as the axis of reference in the tests (horizontal angle H = 0°, vertical angle V = 0°) or in the case of lighting units showing each of them in vertical (axial) section and in front elevation, with main details of the optical design including the axis/axes of reference; and the point to be taken as the centre of reference during the tests;
(c) The limit of the apparent surface of the function(s);
(d) The position and arrangement intended for the approval ▇▇▇▇ or the “Unique Identifier”;
(e) In case of LED module(s) also the space reserved for the specific identification code(s) of the module(s);
(f) A frontal view, with details of lens ribbing if any, and the cross section and any optical features, of the lens, if applicable;
3.1.3. A brief technical description stating in particular:
(a) In the case of lamps with replaceable light sources, the category or categories of light source(s) prescribed; this light source category(s) shall be one of those contained in UN Regulations Nos. 37, 99 or 128
(b) In the case of lamps with replaceable light source modules, the light source module specific identification code;
(c) The make and type of supply and operating device(s), if any and if not being part of an installation unit;
(d) If the device (lamp) is equipped with an adjustable reflector, the mounting position(s) of the lamp in relation to the ground and the longitudinal median plane of the vehicle;
3.1.3.1. In the case of a headlamp, it shall specify:
(a) Whether the headlamp is intended to provide both a passing-beam and a driving-beam or only one of these beams;
(b) If the headlamp is intended to provide a passing-beam, whether it is designed for both left-hand and right-hand traffic or for either left-hand or right-hand traffic only;
(c) To which Class the headlamp belongs;
(d) In the case of LED module(s) this shall include:
(i) A brief technical specification of the LED module(s);
