Application Procedure and Term of Appointment. 7.3.1 Application for half-time tenured employment shall be forwarded to the Chair, or where appropriate, to the Vice-President, Student Affairs and Campus Life or designate, at least six (6) months in advance of the intended date of change in employment status. 7.3.1.1 after consultation between the Chair and full-time employees of the academic unit, the Chair shall forward a recommendation to the ▇▇▇▇, at least four (4) months in advance of the intended date of change in employment status, to the appropriate Vice-President, for approval. 7.3.1.2 the Vice-President, Student Affairs and Campus Life or designate, shall arrange for consultation with the full-time employees of the appropriate department, and at least four (4) months in advance of the intended date of change in employment status, shall forward a recommendation to the appropriate Vice-President, for approval. 7.3.2 Appointment as a half-time tenured employee shall be for a term of one (1) to five (5) academic years (e.g. 15 August - 14 August), and may be renewable only in five (5) academic year increments as per the above application procedure. 7.3.3 Half-time tenured employees may not return to full-time tenured status in advance of the term approved for status as a half-time tenured employee. 7.3.3.1 In exceptional circumstances, a faculty member may apply to the ▇▇▇▇ to return to full-time status prior to the expiration of a second or subsequent term of appointment. Normally the request will be approved, subject to budgetary considerations.
