Common use of Approved Study Clause in Contracts

Approved Study. An approved study leave is one during which the employee 45 pursues a program of upper division or graduate study in residence (not 46 correspondence courses) in an accredited institution of higher learning including 47 foreign universities. The courses shall relate to the present or prospective service of 48 the employee or shall qualify him/her for a needed credential or higher degree. The 49 courses shall be completed and credited within the leave period. The completion of 1 previous incomplete courses and/or the completion of work after the end of the 2 leave period cannot be used to fulfill sabbatical obligations.
