Assigned Time. 17.1 For the 2015-16 and 2016-17 fiscal years, there will be five (5) associate faculty members of the Academic Senate. For the 2017-18 there will be six (6) associate faculty members. Any such assignments are voluntary on the part of the faculty member. A decision by a unit member to not accept a nonteaching assignment shall not be considered in the assignment of classes or in future nonteaching opportunities. All academic, nonteaching assignments shall be compensated per assigned LHE in accordance with the appropriate salary schedule. The amount of assigned LHE shall be assigned by the appropriate District administrator at the time of the assignment. The workload unit for extra-contractual assignments shall be the equivalent of one (1) LHE of noncontractual assignment (17.5 total work hours), and the number of LHE assigned to the duty shall be determined by the total number of work hours required by the activity.

Assigned Time. 17.1 For (a) Each full-time classroom teacher shall be assigned duties to a maximum of 1250 minutes for each five instructional days on average during the 2015school year. Unassigned time shall be available to the teachers for preparation and marking.
(b) Each full-16 and 2016-17 fiscal years, there time classroom teacher will be five assigned time-tabled duties consisting of credit courses, credit equivalent courses, equivalent programs (5TAP, supervisions, on-calls, remedial time and support) associate faculty members and special duties (guidance, library and computer site administration) as defined in the Regulations made under the Education Act, to a maximum of 6.67 eligible program workload as defined in the Regulations made under the Education Act. The assignment of equivalent programs shall not exceed 0.42 of the Academic Senateaggregate system workload assignments.
(c) No classroom teacher shall be assigned more than 3.0 credit and/or credit-equivalent courses per day unless the teacher requests otherwise and the Board and the Bargaining Unit agree in writing. For the 2017No classroom teacher shall be assigned more than 6.0 credit and/or credit-18 there will be six (6) associate faculty members. Subsequently, the number will alternate between five representatives and six representatives, in two year blocks of time. Where the need for an on-call is known twenty-four (24) hours before the start of the school day requiring the on-call, teachers will be notified of on-call assignments the previous day. Every effort will be made to notify teachers of supervisions, on-calls, remedial time and support as far ahead of the assignment as possible. An on-call/supervision may consist of supervising one (17.5 total work hours1) or more classes in the cafeteria or other appropriate location. No teacher will be required to supervise more than three classes at one time.
(f) No classroom teacher shall be assigned other duties in addition to those set out in (a) through (e) above except for home form.
(g) Notwithstanding the above, teachers who are assigned full-time duties as librarians, guidance counselors, cooperative education teachers (including COPE), special education teachers of developmentally disabled students and the number of LHE special education resource teachers who deliver no more that five (5) credits per period and twenty (20) credits in total may be assigned to an unstructured timetable during the duty instructional day with a fifteen (15) minute break in the morning and a fifteen (15) minute break in the afternoon and a lunch break of a minimum of forty (40) consecutive minutes, free from assigned duties. Teachers assigned in this manner shall not be assigned any other duties including home form. The in-school portion of the cooperative education program shall be determined by the total number of work hours minimum required by the activity.Ministry of Education unless the teacher, at the teacher's discretion, chooses to lengthen the in-school portion. Further to the above:
(1) each full-time cooperative education teacher will receive a minimum of two (2) half-periods of timetabled support per cycle during the in-school portion of their program; and
(2) each full-time teacher of developmentally disabled students and/or special education resource withdrawal who delivers no more than five (5 )credits per period and twenty
