Available Preparation Time. A. The Board will provide three (3) forty-five (45) minute preparation periods per week for all elementary school teachers. For school year 2024–2025, the Board will make best efforts to provide 225 minutes of prepara- tion time per week for all elementary school teachers. Starting no later than school year 2025–2026, the Board will provide 225 minutes of preparation time per week for all elementary school teachers. Of the 225 minutes of preparation time per week, 45 minutes may be used for collaborative planning. B. When children are under the supervision of the physical education teacher, librarian, music resource teacher, or art resource teacher, the classroom teacher, at their op- tion, may leave the teaching area and use that period as a preparation period. The teacher shall not be assigned any other duty at that period. C. The Board will maintain a list of substitute teachers who will be used for resource teachers’ absences. This list should be available to each principal. D. Each school having a rescheduled day shall allow thirty (30) minutes of that time for teacher preparation and planning.
