AWARDING POSITIONS. Awards shall be based on ability, merit and seniority; ability and merit being sufficient, seniority shall prevail. The officer of the Company in charge shall be the judge, subject to appeal, such appeal to be made in writing within 28 calendar days of the appointment.

AWARDING POSITIONS. 16.1 Awards shall be based on ability, merit and seniority; ability and merit being sufficient, seniority shall prevail. The officer of the Company in charge shall be the judge, subject to appeal, such appeal to be made in writing within 28 calendar days of the appointment. 16.2 Should the senior employee not be awarded the position, the Local Union Representative shall, upon written request, be furnished with the reasons therefore in writing.
