Common use of Awarding Clause in Contracts

Awarding. 12.03.01 The Company agrees to award and to fill posted vacancies within the bargaining unit with the best qualified applicant for the position subject to the following: (a) The best qualified applicant shall be selected; (b) If the qualifications among qualified applicants are determined by the Company to be equal, the applicant with the most Classification Seniority at the Base where the position is available shall be selected; then (c) If there are no qualified applicants, the Company shall have the right to hire the applicant of its choice. 12.03.02 In the event the Company elects, a successful bidder may be held in their former position up to thirty (30) days.
