Base Service. In general, alarm monitoring consists of alarm signal recognition via the automated system(s) located in Service Provider’s SOC (security operations center) or backup method by the SOC officer; alarm signal assessment; review of applicable instructions; appropriate notification per instructions; annotation/documentation of actions, findings, etc. in the system or on hardcopy; and additional support/coordination actions as may be required. With respect to the categorization of the alarms (classified, unclassified), the following apply:
