BENEFITS IN ADDITION TO SALARY. During the term of her Employment Contract the Board shall provide the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction with the following benefits: A. Medical Insurance: The Board shall provide as part of the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction compensation medical, prescription and dental insurance coverage similar to other certified staff members. The Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction shall contribute toward health benefits pursuant to Ch78 P.L. 2011 and as required and in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:16-17, 17.1. The Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction may waive coverage in any of the health benefit plans if covered through a spouse, civil union or domestic partner’s health plan, and in accordance with procedures established by the Board. The Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction will be paid the lessor of 25% (twenty-five percent) or $5,000 (Five Thousand Dollars) of the cost of said coverage for waiving such coverage. B. Sick Leave: The Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction shall be entitled to twelve (12) sick leave days with pay each year as of the first official day of the school year. Unused sick leave shall accumulate from year to year. a. Upon the retirement by the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction after completing at least ten (10) years of employment in the district, the Board of Education shall compensate the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for unused accumulated sick leave upon the following basis: i. One (1) day for every three (3) days of unused accumulated sick leave to a maximum of ninety (90) paid days; ii. provided, however, that the compensation for unused accumulated sick leave paid upon retirement shall not exceed $15,000; iii. per diem rate will be valued at 1/260 of the annual base salary. C. Temporary Leave of Absence (Personal Days): The Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction may be granted up to three (3) days of temporary leave of absence, with pay, for personal matters which require absence during school hours. Personal days are non-cumulative and the Board will not compensate for any unused personal leave. An Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction who is required to undergo military field training or to attend deployment during any school year shall be granted a leave of absence with pay in accordance with law. If possible, at least twenty-four (24) hours notice will be given by the individual requesting leave. The Superintendent, in the best interest of the school district, is empowered to deny any request for temporary leave of absence, except legally required military leave. Such denial may be appealed to the Board of Education.

Any unused sick leave shall be cumulative and available for sick leave, if needed, in subsequent years.

The Board shall reimburse the Board Secretary/School Business Administrator for professional membership dues incurred by him in connection with membership in the following organizations: ▇▇▇▇▇▇ County Association of School Officials New Jersey Association of School Business Officials New Jersey School Board Associations Association of Business Officials International In addition, the Board agrees to pay up to $1,000.00 per year for the purpose of graduate school tuition and/or continuing professional education fees.
C. The Board Secretary/School Business Administrator shall earn 20 vacation days with pay each year as of during the first official day of the 2008 – 2009 school year. Unused sick During a leave shall accumulate from year to year.
a. Upon of absence, vacation time will be prorated accordingly. One less day of vacation time will be granted for each month of a leave of absence. All vacation must have prior approval of the retirement by the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction after completing at least ten (10) years of employment in the district, or the Board of Education Education. All vacation time must be used prior to June 30, 2009. Unused vacation time shall compensate not be cumulative.
D. The Board Secretary/School Business Administrator shall be entitled to (3) personal days during the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum term of this contract. Unused personal days shall not be cumulative, but shall be converted to sick days and Instruction for unused added to his accumulated sick leave upon the following basis:
i. One (on July 1) day for every three (3) days of unused accumulated sick leave to a maximum of ninety (90) paid days;
ii. provided, however, that the compensation for unused accumulated sick leave paid upon retirement shall not exceed $15,000;
iii. per diem rate will be valued at 1/260 of the annual base salary2009.
C. Temporary Leave of Absence E. The Board Secretary/School Business Administrator shall receive fourteen (Personal Days): 14) holidays in accordance with the calendar for twelve-month employees.
F. The Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction may Board Secretary/School Business Administrator shall be granted up to three five (35) consecutive working days, but in no case more the seven (7) calendar days following the death of temporary a spouse or near relative (parent, child, brother, sister, grandparents) of the employee or spouse.
G. The fringe benefits and leave of absence, with pay, for personal matters as provided in this Article III shall constitute all fringe benefits and leave to which require absence during school hours. H. The Board Secretary/School Business Administrator shall be entitled to be reimbursed for expenses, including automobile mileage which he personally incurred or advanced directly in connection with discharge of duties. Such reimbursement shall be made pursuant to procedures as established accordance with prevailing State Law, NJSA 18A11-12 and NJOMB circular. Any mileage reimbursement shall be at .31 per mile. However, the Board shall not compensate reimburse the Board Secretary/School Business Administrator for any unused personal leave. An Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction who is required mileage incurred by his connection with commuting to undergo military field training or from his own home to school or to attend deployment during any required school year meetings. In addition, reimbursement shall not be granted a leave of absence with pay in accordance with law. If possible, at least twenty-four (24) hours notice will be given permitted for meals purchased by the individual requesting leaveBoard Secretary/School Business Administrator which are not directly related to or involved with the discharge of expressly assigned school duties. I The SuperintendentBoard shall provide hospitalization, in the best interest of the school districthealth, is empowered to deny any request for temporary leave of absence, except legally required military leave. Such denial may be appealed and other insurance to the Board Secretary/School Business Administrator to the same extent as such insurance coverage that is provided for other employees of Educationthe Board.
