Common use of Bumping Privileges Clause in Contracts

Bumping Privileges. It is agreed that in cases of layoff where an employee exercises his seniority to displace a junior employee, he is entitled to a familiarization period of up twenty- five (25) working days for Groups A, B and C, and fifteen (15) working days for all other groups to become acquainted with the special job duties and/or machines involved in the job he is moving to. During this familiarization period, he must demonstrate sufficient ability and skills to promptly and satisfactorily perform the job.
