Bus Supervision. If bus supervision goes beyond the teacher’s normal teaching day (excluding field trips, etc.), the teacher will be remunerated at the rate of $15.80 per hour.

Maximum per activity: $21.00 Licensed personnel will be given the opportunity to volunteer for bus supervision duties subject to the approval of the building principal. It is understood that all staff members share in the responsibilities of the orderly dismissal as part of their regular prescribed hours of employment. This participation shall be without extra pay. Where necessary, an elementary school or middle school may provide one paid bus supervisor for each bus loading station. The paid bus supervisor(s) at each school shall be assisted by all other teachers at the school, on a rotating basis, in supervising at the bus loading station(s). Said supervisor shall designate a substitute to take his/her place and assume such duties when the supervisor is absent or otherwise unable to perform these duties. In the event no person will assume the paid supervisor's duty, the principal shall rotate such duty among the staff. The above program applies only to the elementary and middle schools. Only the paid supervisor(s) shall be responsible for morning bus supervision. The bus supervisor(s) are not required to supervise in the morning, once the principal of the school deems that the program is running smoothly. (See APPENDIX D)
Bus Supervision. Teachers may be assigned, on a rotating basis, without discrimination to supervision of bus pupils before and after school. If sufficient staff are available, lunch duty may be assigned without discrimination on a rotating basis to certified staff who have a free period in addition to their preparation period, before lunch duty is assigned to staff who do not have a free period in addition to their preparation period.
Bus Supervision. When the TrueNorth Administrator determines that there are more teacher assistants employed than are necessary for bus supervision, such supervision of students to and from buses shall be on a rotational basis and equitably assigned between teacher assistants. Within thirty (30) days of the entry into this Collective Bargaining Agreement and by September 30 of succeeding contract years, the TrueNorth Administration shall meet with teacher assistants at each worksite to discuss if and how a rotation system for bus supervision could be implemented.
