Calculating Overtime Rates Sample Clauses

The "Calculating Overtime Rates" clause defines how an employee's pay is determined for hours worked beyond their standard schedule. Typically, this clause specifies the rate at which overtime is paid—such as one and a half times the regular hourly wage—and may outline which hours or days qualify as overtime, like work performed over 40 hours in a week or on designated holidays. Its core function is to ensure fair compensation for extra work and to provide clear guidelines for both employers and employees, thereby preventing disputes over overtime pay.
Calculating Overtime Rates. An employee who is absent on approved time-off during his scheduled work week because of sickness, bereavement, holidays, vacation or other approved leave of absence, shall for the purpose of computing overtime pay, be considered as if he had worked during his regular hours during such absence.
Calculating Overtime Rates. (a) When calculating overtime payments, each day on which an Employee works will be counted separately.
