Common use of Called and Cancelled Clause in Contracts

Called and Cancelled. 20.01 Employees notified or called to work not continuous with, before, or after their regular assigned hours, shall be entitled not less than two (2) hours at their regular rate of pay as a result of being cancelled. 20.02 Employees cancelled after reporting for duty will be paid not less than two (2) hours at their regular rate of pay if cancelled less than two (2) hours after reporting for duty. Employees held more than two hours and less than four (4) hours after being called and then cancelled, will be paid six (6) hours. Employees held more than four (4) hours will be entitled to a basic day and will have the option of booking rest in accordance with Article 6. 20.03 Employees whose regular assignment is cancelled on a scheduled work day will be paid for all regular assigned hours at the regular rate of pay due to being cancelled. These provisions will not prevent the Company from utilizing the crew for other work that may be available within the same scheduled hours of the cancelled assignment.
