Deadheading. Deadheading shall be paid either separate from or combined with service, in the manner least costly to the company. Where deadheading is paid separately from service, unless otherwise provided, the Engineer shall be paid a minimum of one-half day at the basic daily rate or actual time consumed, whichever is greater. If separate service deadhead is the only service performed on that calendar day a basic day’s pay will be allowed for the separate service deadhead.
Deadheading. Deadheading or travelling passenger on railway business with the proper authority will be paid for based on the following:
Deadheading. Operators deadheading or travelling on Commission business with proper authority, shall be paid for the time so occupied on the minute basis, at the regular rate.
Deadheading. Operators required to deadhead, by driving an empty bus, shall be paid actual kilometers driven at the rate of 85% of the Line Service Rate plus an additional 15 km for prep and final time.
Deadheading. 1. Deadheading may occur on a Company flight, a corporate charter, a commercial flight or by surface/ground transportation. Transportation to/from the airport to a local hotel is not considered a ground deadhead.
2. Deadheading shall be considered duty time.
3. A Flight Attendant Deadheading on a commercial flight is required to wear casual business attire and may, at her/his option, wear her/his uniform. A Flight Attendant will not be required to wear her/his uniform on a Deadhead or ferry flight, excluding Deadheads on any live Company flight. A Flight Attendant ferrying or Deadheading into a live leg shall be required to wear the uniform if the ground time upon arrival provides less than two hours and thirty minutes (02:30) before departure of the live leg.
4. A Flight Attendant may request to deviate from a tail-end commercial Deadhead flight where the cost of the requested deviation flight and any additional fees associated with the deviation (e.g. change fee, cancellation fee, ground transportation) is equal to or less than the scheduled Deadhead flight. The written notification of the deviation request must be received by the Scheduling Department no less than three (3) days in advance of the scheduled Deadhead commercial flight. If the requested deviation causes the Flight Attendant to be in travel status on a Scheduled Day Off when the original Deadhead commercial flight would not, the Flight Attendant shall not be entitled to any overtime pay. Permission to deviate from a tail-end Deadhead in all other circumstances will be awarded at Company discretion and will not be unreasonably denied.
5. Flight Attendants will provide the company their frequent flyer numbers issued by various commercial carriers to facilitate the booking of commercial Deadhead flights, including issuance of seat assignments, and ascertaining the appropriate checked baggage fee.
6. When booking Deadhead flights on commercial carriers that offer pre- selected seat assignments the Company will attempt to secure seat assignments in aisle or window seats where there is no additional cost to the Company.
Deadheading. A. A scheduled or unscheduled deadhead to protect a flight, Charter deadheads, rescheduled deadheads, or a scheduled deadhead from a flight, will be considered a must ride to include cabin seats for all Flight Attendants. A flight Attendant may, but is not obligated to, occupy a jumpseat.
B. An unscheduled deadhead requires must ride cabin seating. A Flight Attendant may, but is not obligated to, occupy a jumpseat. If the Flight Attendant does not make her/his scheduled deadhead, and does not have a must ride reservation, the Flight Attendant will be treated as a revenue standby. When a flight is not available after four (4) hours, the Flight Attendant will be given a hotel room and remain overnight, if she/he chooses.
C. At the end of a scheduled pairing, if a Flight Attendant with a positive space reservation, or a Flight Attendant who is being treated as a revenue standby, does not get on the next flight, such Flight Attendant may, at her/his option, contact Crew Scheduling and be released from further duty at that time and will be paid for the scheduled deadhead.
D. A Flight Attendant will be allowed to deadhead earlier than scheduled if Scheduling approves the request. The following conditions apply:
1. The Flight Attendant contacts Scheduling prior to the deadhead(s).
2. The requested change is to deadhead in the same duty period as the currently scheduled deadhead(s).
3. The requested change will result in the Flight Attendant arriving at the same final destination as the currently scheduled deadhead(s).
4. The requested change is legal.
5. The requested change does not result in increased compensation for the Flight Attendant.
6. The requested change does not result in bumping a revenue passenger.
7. The requested change does not result in a flight delay. The request must allow sufficient time to book the new reservation, issue a boarding pass, and board the Flight Attendant without delaying the flight.
8. Scheduling will agree to the request if the operation is “normal”, i.e. there are not operational problems in the geographical area of deadhead departure or arrival city.
E. A Flight Attendant on a 600 series pairing will be allowed to deadhead either earlier or later than the scheduled deadhead. A Flight Attendant will be subject to reschedule if contacted by Crew Scheduling.
F. A Flight Attendant scheduled on a pairing which originates with a deadhead(s), may pick up the trip at the out station from which the first working leg departs. When the...
Deadheading. In all cases where an employee is instructed to ride or drive on Company or leased equipment, he shall receive full pay as specified in this Agreement; when instructed to deadhead on other than Company or leased equipment, the employee shall likewise receive the full rate of pay as specified in this Agreement, plus the cost of transportation.
Deadheading. 17.1 Deadheading and service may be combined and, when so combined, will be paid actual miles or hours on a continuous time basis with not less than a basic day for the combined service and deadheading, in accordance with the provisions of Article 6. The provisions of Article 7, will apply where appropriate when deadheading and service are combined. Employees will be notified at the time of call, if deadheading and services are to be combined.
17.2 When deadheading is paid for separately from service, a minimum day at the basic rate applicable to the train on which deadheading will be allowed unless the actual mileage deadheading is greater, in which event, actual mileage deadheaded will be allowed.
17.3 Employees, when deadheading to exercise seniority rights or returning after having done so or as a result of the application of Article 28, will not be entitled to compensation therefor. Deadheading in connection with relief work which employees either obtain by making application for bulletined position or claim through the exercise of seniority shall not be compensated for. Spare employees ordered by the Company to deadhead will be compensated.
NOTE 1: When employees who are the successful applicants to bulletined work trains are not available for the commencement of the work assignment on account of performing other duties, such employees will be entitled to compensation for deadheading to the location of the assignment.
NOTE 2: All relief work at Lévis, Joffre or Charny for ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ train crews ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ passenger or express trains will be protected by employees assigned to the spare board at Mont Joli. No compensation for deadheading shall accrue to such spare employees, notwithstanding the provisions of this Article.
17.4 When an employee is entitled to compensation for deadheading, the Company will provide or arrange for the necessary transportation. When railway or public transportation is not available and employees are authorized by the Company to use their private automobile, they will be reimbursed at the rate for the distance travelled via the most direct highway route as prescribed in paragraph 5.1.
17.5 When an unassigned employee is required to deadhead, the employee first-out will be called.

Deadheading. Drivers who deadhead from any one point to another shall be paid the regular rate for the trip.
