A Career Increment clause establishes the terms under which an employee's salary or compensation is increased based on their career progression or tenure. Career Increment. Effective September 1, 2019, full-time teachers shall receive: $1213 annually beginning with their 15th year of service, $1550 annually beginning with their 20th year of service, $1887 annually beginning with their 25th year of service, and $2695 annually beginning with their 30th year of service as a teacher in the District.
Career Increment. 1. Teaching personnel who are at the maximum of either the BA+20 or the MA+30 columns shall be eligible to receive additional compensation for continuous teaching experience in the Great Falls Public Schools. Approved leaves of absence do not interrupt continuous service, nor do they count as credit toward career increment unless the teacher has fulfilled the Minimum School Year provision of this Agreement. Previously and properly granted credit toward career increment shall be retained, but future advancement shall be made under the terms of this Agreement. 2. Teachers shall receive an annual longevity payment of two percent (2%) of their annual regular salary beginning with the 15th step in the salary schedule at BA+20 and the 16th step in the salary schedule at MA+30; this amount shall be increased to four percent (4%) at the 16th in the salary schedule at BA+20 and at the 17th step in the salary schedule at MA+30; and to six percent (6%) at the 17th step at BA+20 and 18th step at MA+30. Career Increment. Upon completion of fifteen-(15) years of service in the bargaining unit, teachers will receive a lumpsum payment of $550 annually on the last paycheck of the regular school year. Upon completion of twenty-(20) years of service in the bargaining unit, teachers will receive a lumpsum payment of $750 annually on the last paycheck of the regular school year. An individual who has been frozen on the MA+36 for 2 years is eligible for a $500.00 increment commencing with the start of the third year. An individual who has been frozen on the MA+36 for 2 years is eligible for a $750.00 increment commencing with the start of the third year. Increments of $250 will be added after the completion of each additional three years of service with GPS.

Career Increment. Depending on years of teaching service in the School District, eligible teachers shall receive a career increment(s) based on the following schedule:
Career Increment. A career employee will receive additional compensation at the rate of Five-Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each of the following career steps: 16th, 18th, 21st, 25th, 28th and 31st. Effective 2006-2007 school year, the longevity increments in Column 5 of the 6 period and 7 period salary schedules, will be adjusted every four (4) steps beginning with Step 23. Effective 2007-2008 school year, the longevity increments in Column 6 of the 6 period and 7 period salary schedules, will be adjusted every four (4) steps beginning with Step 17. Effective 2016-2017 school year, the longevity increments in Column 6 of the 6 period and 7 period salary schedules, will be adjusted every three (3) steps beginning with Step 25.
Career Increment. Beginning the year after the employee reaches the last salary cell in their educational column as specified on the salary schedule (Appendix B), the employee will receive a longevity increase of $350 per year, which will be cumulative. This amount will be paid in addition to the salary cell amount specified in the Appendix B salary schedule for that employee. The revised figure of $350 (previously $250) per year will begin with 1996-97 school year. An increase in base will not affect this longevity increase. If a teacher is employed less than full-time the amount of the longevity increase will be proportional to the time contracted for that year.
