Cell Phone Usage. Employees will exercise discretion in personal cell usage that interferes with employee productivity while at work. Employees will make personal phone calls on non-work time, where possible, and be responsible for informing friends and family of the district’s policy.
Cell Phone Usage. Candidates are prohibited from utilizing any electronic communication devices during class hours. Candidates with a pending family emergency must inform the instructor prior to class and set electronic device to silent vibrate. In the event of an emergency communication the candidate will remove themselves from the classroom or drill area to receive the communication. Violation of this policy is grounds for immediate dismissal from the program with no exceptions. Candidates are permitted to take pictures or capture digital images as long as they are attentive to the skill sessions and their actions do not present a safety issue to themselves or the other candidates. All pictures and images will be preapproved by the program coordinator before they are distributed in any format including printed or electronically. Violation of this policy is grounds for immediate dismissal from the program with no exceptions.

Parkrose School District (the District) and OSEA Chapter 44 (the Union) agree to create a monthly cell phone stipend for classified employees who choose to complete a request form for use of their personal mobile communication device for vocal communication during on duty time in lieu of a district provided mobile communication device. The employee has the option to choose to use their personal device or a district provided device. The supervisor will determine which positions require a personal mobile device. The supervisor will determine if the employee is eligible for the stipend and forward the approved request to the Human Resource Department. Employees shall receive a stipend of $30 each month for vocal and text communication unless the employee is on an approved leave from their position in excess of two weeks. For less than full-time positions, the monthly stipend will be pro-rated according to required use. The employee’s office number will be forwarded to their personal cell phone. Supervisors will be provided the employee’s personal cell phone numbers in case of an emergency.
