Chair Responsibility. The Company and the Union will alternate in filling the Chair from meeting to meeting. The Chair will seek to keep the discussion on topic and ensure that each Committee member has a chance to have input on each item discussed. In general, the Chair will try to establish an open, flexible style of discussion on agenda items B-1 Route bid packages to be distributed to all drivers once a year at the start of November: a) Routes built at an average of 10 hours per day over a 4 day work week; b) Drivers are required to work the full shift unless excused at the discretion of management; c) Some daily routes may be over 10 hours where the additional hours may be subject to weekly overtime; d) A driver can request a route audit if the route is consistently and regularly greater than 10 hours. This may create a situation where the route will be re-structured to remain as close to the 10 hour limit as possible. This will not create a re-bid situation; e) Route packages may be a combination of customer collection stops, and domicile location switches; f) Route bids will be distributed from October 1st – Dec 15th. B-2 Drivers will be contacted during Q4 each year to select their preferred route based on seniority a) Drivers must qualify for the route they are bidding on based on their driver license classification; b) Drivers must be able to fully perform the route they are bidding on (i.e. not have existing restrictions from customer or 3rd party sites); c) Drivers that select the “spare” route selection must be flexible with their availability to perform routes 7 days a week to fulfill the requirements of the “spare” position. B-3 The route bid procedure is in place in order to improve productivity and customer service through drivers and customers gaining familiarity with each other. Routes may be changed if there is a situation where the route is dissolved. B-4 For our Ottawa facility, in the event there is an OT sign-up sheet for statutory holiday routes, the position of “Spare/warehouse” can only perform a route after all other regular route drivers have had the opportunity to sign up for OT based on the regular driver seniority. Only after the regular drivers have had the opportunity to sign up for statutory holiday OT can the “spare/warehouse” position sign up for an overtime route. B-5 In the event a route becomes vacant for any reason, a bid will be conducted from the seniority of the former route driver down. This notice of route vacancy will be posted for a period of 1 week before conducting the route bid. B-6 Route information such as days of services, days off, approximate daily hours, approximate start times, category of route (LQ vs. SQ) and general geographic area will be available on route bid packages. B-7 An up to date seniority list will be provided to each driver with the route bid packages each year. B-8 Annual route bids will take place based on top down seniority. B-9 Results of the route bidding process will be posted for a period of one week after the bidding has concluded. B-10 Employees being called in to work will perform the work available.
