Chart / Sounding Datum i) The Chart datum / Sounding datum already established by Port Authorities (Chart Datum) shall be adopted. ii) The Chart / Sounding datum in non-tidal stretches to be defined with average of last six years lowest water level recorded by the Central Water Commission (CWC) / State Irrigation Department / Flood Control Department / Farakka Barrage. iii) The Chart / Sounding datum defined above shall be transferred to nearest gauge by interpolation method and also transferred to the nearest BM. iv) The Chart / Sounding datum to all other gauges (between two consecutive CWC/Irrigation gauges) shall be fixed by interpolation or slope.
