Charter Continuation Clause Samples

The Charter Continuation clause defines the conditions under which a charter agreement remains in effect beyond its original term or in specific circumstances. Typically, this clause outlines scenarios such as delays in cargo operations, unforeseen events, or mutual agreement, where the charter period may be automatically extended or renewed. Its core practical function is to ensure uninterrupted vessel operations and provide clarity on the parties' obligations if the charter needs to continue past the initially agreed timeframe, thereby preventing disputes and operational gaps.
