Chronic Conditions. Employees who are suffering from a chronic condition which may require the use of unscheduled sick leave on a regular and recurring basis, must establish the chronic nature of their illness with medical documentation. The documentation shall indicate how often it is anticipated that the employee may be incapacitated by the chronic condition and the likeli- hood that the condition may or may not continue and/or its expected duration. In those instances, the employee will not normally be required to provide medical documentation for additional sick leave usage, related to the chronic condition.
