Classification Seniority Clause Samples

Classification Seniority. For employees in classes in Units 2, 3, and 7, "Classification Seniority" is defined as the length of service in a job classification with the State of Minnesota, beginning with the date an employee begins to serve a probationary appointment. For employees in classes in Units 4 and 6, Classification Seniority is no longer used.

Classification Seniority. Classification Seniority" is defined as the length of service in a specific job classification within the bargaining unit, beginning with the date an employee starts to serve a probationary appointment. Classification Seniority shall be interrupted only by separation because of resignation, discharge for just cause, failure to return upon expiration of a leave of absence, failure to respond to a recall from layoff, or retirement.

An employee who serves a temporary appointment in a class and receives a probationary appointment to that class shall have Classification Seniority credited to the beginning of the temporary appointment in that class, provided there was no break in service between appointments. For purposes of Classification Seniority, time served in either the classification of Engineer, Principal or Land Surveyor, Principal may be credited interchangeably.

(2) Employees shall be scheduled in order of their classification seniority. (3) Some concession employees are listed in multiple classifications. Those employees will have separate classification seniority for each of the classifications that they are assigned.

Classification Seniority. Classification seniority shall mean a permanent Local 2058 employee with seniority in a classification based on length of permanent continuous service within a classification or like classification within the same pay group, within a Unit, Division or Agency. Such seniority shall be used for preference of vacations, bonus vacations, holidays, distribution of overtime, and annual shift bids.
