Common use of Co-Occurring Services Clause in Contracts

Co-Occurring Services. Follow a program that uses a stage-wise treatment model that is non-confrontational, follows behavioral principles, considers interactions between mental illness and substance use, and has gradual expectations of abstinence. Mental illness and substance use research has strongly indicated that to recover fully, a Client with co-occurring disorders needs treatment for both diagnoses, as focusing on one does not ensure the other will go away. Co-occurring services integrate assistance for each condition, helping people recover from both in one setting at the same time. All treatment team members shall be capable of providing co-occurring treatment. When appropriate, the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria shall be utilized to identify an appropriate level of co-occurring treatment indicated. Individuals with co-occurring issues shall be provided a range of co- occurring services including linkage to medical detox, social detox, residential treatment, sober living, or outpatient treatment. As appropriate, CONTRACTOR shall collaborate with community support groups to include hosting self-help groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) to provide Clients with an avenue for full recovery.
