The Commitment to Training and Careers clause establishes an obligation for one or both parties to support the ongoing professional development and career advancement of individuals involved in the agreement. This may involve providing access to training programs, educational resources, or mentorship opportunities, and could apply to employees, contractors, or other stakeholders. By including this clause, the agreement ensures that parties invest in skill-building and career growth, which can improve workforce quality and retention while addressing the need for continuous development in a competitive environment.
Commitment to Training and Careers. (a) The parties commit themselves to continuing and upgrading the training provided to employees. It is agreed that the parties will co-operate in ensuring that training is maintained and improved. This training will form the basis of an enhanced career structure in the industry. (b) If the Employer requires the employee to undertake an off the job National Accredited training course, the employee will be paid ordinary rates of pay for any hours spent at such training outside of their ordinary hours of work. Hours spent in training for disciplinary purposes may be paid at the ordinary level 1 rate of pay. Where the employer offers training to employees and such training is completed and its associated costs, and such training is likely to be useful to the employee in obtaining employment with another employer, the employee must repay an amount according to the following formula if s/he resigns the employment before completing 12 months employment; Number of weeks remaining before completing 12 months employment divided by 52 multiplied by the cost of the training or $ 1000, whichever is lesser. E.g. where the course cost is $800 and the employee resigns 13 weeks before completing 12 months service, the employee must repay $200.
Commitment to Training and Careers. 8.1.1 The parties acknowledge that various degrees of training are provided to employees in the industry, both by internal on the job training and through external training providers. 8.1.2 The parties commit themselves to continuing such training as is regarded by them as appropriate and improving training in such cases where this is required. 8.1.3 It is agreed that the parties will co-operate in ensuring that appropriate training is available for all employees in this industry and the parties agree to co-operate in encouraging both employers and employees to avail themselves of the benefits from such training.
Commitment to Training and Careers. The parties acknowledge that training is provided to employees both by internal on the job training, and through external training providers as needed. Such training will continue to be provided. As a minimum, it is recommended that each staff member be required to attend/complete the compulsory modules identified below on an annual basis. • Fire Safety • Back Care • Emergency Procedures, • Infection Control • EEO Guidelines
Commitment to Training and Careers. The parties acknowledge that training and education for staff is an important part of ensuring that staff not only remain competent in their position but also continue to develop. Training both on the job and through external providers will be provided as appropriate. As a general rule, individual employee performance and development reviews will be conducted annually. Staff will be consulted regarding their training needs and as a minimum, each staff member will be required to attend/complete the compulsory modules identified by each site on an annual basis. These modules may include:  Customer ServiceManual HandlingFire SafetyWork place Health & SafetyWorkplace Diversity Time to undertake these compulsory modules will be allowed for during paid working time.
Commitment to Training and Careers. The parties to this Enterprise Agreement are committed to continuing and upgrading the training provided to employees. It is agreed that the parties will co-operate in ensuring that such training is maintained and improved, this may encompass the alignment of identified skills/competencies to a particular classification as defined in Clause 1.5. "Definitions" of this Enterprise Agreement. The parties are also committed to enhancing the career opportunities and job security of employees in such industry.
Commitment to Training and Careers. (i) The parties to this Agreement recognise that in order to increase the efficiency and productivity of NCR/CVI a significant commitment to training and skill development is required. Accordingly, the parties commit themselves to: (a) Developing a more highly skilled and flexible workforce; and (b) Providing employees with career opportunities through appropriate training to assist an employee to acquire additional skills. (ii) NCR/CVI shall endeavour to provide in-service training during normal business hours. However if required, an employee agrees to undertake training during their own time. (iii) NCR/CVI undertakes to introduce a conference budget for the life of this Agreement. This conference budget will be administered by Human Resources, and its allocation will be based on demonstrated performance and commitment by the employee to NCR/CVI, CPD requirements and the determination of attendance to the course as being beneficial to NCR/CVI. Staff must apply to Human Resources for the allocation of funds for such use. (iv) Allocation of funds may cover registration fees and travel costs associated with attending conferences. (v) If an employee requires accommodation whilst away at a conference they may receive the relevant accommodation allowance as outlined in clause 5.4. These allowances will also be included within the conference budget. All other expenses incurred by the employee will be their personal responsibility. (vi) Upon attendance at a conference or training course funded by NCR/CVI, employees will be required to provide a summary report and/or presentation to staff on the content of the course.

It is agreed that the parties will co-operate in ensuring that such training is maintained and improved, this may encompass the alignment of identified skills/competencies to a particular classification as set out in Clause 2.1. "Classification Structure" of this Agreement. The parties are also committed to enhancing the career opportunities and job security of employees. Permanent Custodial Officers must obtain a Certificate III in Correctional Practice within twelve (12) months of commencing employment as an Officer. Casual Correctional Officers must obtain a Certificate III in Correctional Practice within the pro-rata equivalent of 12 months full service with the Company.
Commitment to Training and Careers. 2.8.1 The parties to this Agreement recognise that in order to increase the efficiency and productivity of PM Switchboards a commitment to training and skill development is required. Accordingly, the parties commit themselves to:- (a) Developing a more highly skilled and flexible workforce; (b) Providing Employees with career opportunities through appropriate training to acquire additional skills; and (c) Removing barriers to the utilisation of skills acquired.
Commitment to Training and Careers. 2.5.1 The parties acknowledge that various degrees of training are provided to employees in private hospitals, both by internal on the job training, and through external training providers. Such training as is appropriate, will continue to be provided. As a minimum, each staff member will be required to attend /complete, the compulsory modules identified by each site on an annual basis. These modules may include: • Customer Service, • Back Care, • Emergency Procedures, • Infection Control, • Discrimination and Harassment. Attendance at these sessions shall occur in ordinary paid time. 2.5.2 The parties will cooperate in ensuring that appropriate training is available for all employees to enable them to competently and safely, perform their contracted tasks and agree to encourage both employers and employees to avail themselves of the benefits from such training.
Commitment to Training and Careers. 11.1 The parties acknowledge that if required, varying degrees of training will be provided to Employees. Subject clauses 11.3.and 11.5 the cost of such training will be paid by the Employer. 11.2 The parties commit themselves to continuing such training as is regarded by them as appropriate and improving training in cases where this is required. 11.3 The employee will be expected to remain in employment for a minimum period of twelve months after the successful completion of the course, and if the employee does not remain employed by the Employer for the whole of the twelve month period, the Employer may claim back a pro rata part thereof. 11.4 Any course paid for by the Employer must also be completed on time or repayment of the course fee will be repayable by the Employee. 11.5 The Employer reserves the right to claim course fees for any Employee who fails any course paid for by the Employer. 11.6 The parties commit themselves to continuing such training as is regarded by the Employer as appropriate. 11.7 It is agreed that the parties will co-operate in ensuring that appropriate training is available for all Employees and the parties agree to co-operate in encouraging both the Employer and the Employees to avail themselves of the benefits to both from such training.
