Common use of CONSULTANT SERVICES REQUIRED Clause in Contracts

CONSULTANT SERVICES REQUIRED. Services being sought under this scope of work are related to the planning, design and technical review of TE Projects. Specific task may include but might not be limited to the following: • Assisting with the promotion and further development of the TE Program by helping Department staff identify potential TE projects and project sponsors; • Preparing conceptual designs and cost estimates for potential TE projects; • Preparing preliminary, semi-final, and final design plans for Department administered projects; • Preparing contract plans, specifications, estimates, right-of-way plans, permits construction phasing plans, traffic control and maintenance of traffic plans, and utility statements for Department administered projects; • Providing assistance related to utility coordination, preparation of right-of-way plans, and environmental review and permitting; • Conducting the necessary public involvement for Department administered projects. This task shall include planning and designing the public involvement event, and developing the necessary materials and exhibits; • Providing technical reviews of preliminary, semi-final and final design plans as well as construction specifications and estimates for sponsored administered TE projects; • Providing ongoing coordination with project sponsors for Department administered and sponsor administered projects; • Preparing project status and tracking reports; and, • Other services that might be deemed necessary by the Department to identify, plan, design and/or construct TE Projects. In addition to the above, the Department will require that a project team for assignment be established. The project team should include experienced architects, planners and/or engineers having the required State of Delaware registrations or certificates as required. The consultant should also be prepared to provide additional expertise related to land surveying, architecture, environmental studies and traffic engineering. The project team must be employees of the primary consultant or its approved sub consultants. The successful consultant(s) should also have a thorough knowledge of Federal and Delaware design standards, specifications and requirements, as well as a thorough knowledge of the Federal and Delaware TE Program guidelines.
