Contingency Fee Clause Samples

A Contingency Fee clause establishes that a party, typically an attorney, will receive payment only if a specific outcome is achieved, such as winning a case or securing a settlement. In practice, this means the attorney’s compensation is a predetermined percentage of the amount recovered for the client, and if there is no recovery, the attorney does not receive a fee. This arrangement allows clients to pursue legal action without upfront costs and aligns the attorney’s interests with the client’s success, thereby reducing financial risk for the client.
