Common use of Contractor’s Superintendent Clause in Contracts

Contractor’s Superintendent. During the course of the work on the site, the Contractor shall employ a competent superintendent and any necessary assistants, all satisfactory to the Consultant or the Architect/Engineer. The Superintendent shall not be changed except with the consent of the Consultant or the Architect/Engineer, unless the Superintendent proves to be unsatisfactory to the Contractor and ceased to be in his employ. The Superintendent shall represent the Contractor in his absence and all directions given by him shall be as binding as if given by the Contractor. Important decisions shall be confirmed in writing to the Contractor. Other directions shall be so confirmed on written request in each case.
