Common use of Convention Clause in Contracts

Convention. 6.02 a. An Employee elected or appointed to attend a State or National Union Convention shall be given a leave of absence without pay or vacation leave for the duration of the convention or conference including reasonable travel time. 6.02 b. The Union shall notify the Employer in writing of the names of the affected Employees and their alternate not less than thirty (30) calendar days prior to the leave. In the event that the alternate is required to attend the convention or conference, the Union shall notify the Employer immediately.
