COVERAGE RATES. NEFS XII will deploy at-sea monitors in a way to achieve coverage of of 20 trips that is random and representative of the fishing activities of the sector. The coverage 21 rate of groundfish trips for FY 2016, has been specified by NMFS as 14%. This coverage 22 rate includes ASM and NEFOP coverage, if which the cost of ASM is the responsibility of 23 the Sector. A monitored trip must be a sector trip, including those taken in which a NE 24 multispecies day-at-sea is used to target other species such as monkfish or skates, unless 25 exempted by NMFS.
