Common use of Custodian Overtime Clause in Contracts

Custodian Overtime. 1. In the event the Swing Custodian is absent for five (5) work days or less, the regular elementary Head Custodian will be offered the opportunity to work up to three (3) hours to cover for the Swing Custodian, if necessary. If coverage for the Swing Custodian is needed at the junior or senior high school, the Head Custodian in that building will be offered the opportunity to work up to three (3) hours. If further coverage is needed, a substitute may be called. If the regular elementary Head Custodian is absent, the Swing Custodian will be offered the opportunity to work to cover for the Head Custodian and will be offered the opportunity to work up to three (3) hours to cover for the swing custodian’s regular shift. 2. In the event of expected absence for more than one day, the elementary Head Custodian and junior or senior high school Head Custodian, to be eligible for the overtime work described in Section 1 of this Article, must commit to cover the overtime for the full period of absence. 3.
