Daily Transportation with Board and Room or Subsistence. On projects where board and room or subsistence allowance applies and the temporary domicile is beyond Free Zone around the project, the Employer shall provide transportation or each Employee shall be paid the maximum CRA vehicle allowance rate per road kilometre when supplying their own transportation, from the temporary domicile to the boundary of the project Free Zone and return daily. Daily transportation expense to and from the project will not be paid if suitable commercial accommodation is available within the Free Zone. When an Employer is providing transportation, each Employee shall be paid an allowance equal to their straight time rate for actual travel time from point of pick up to the project daily. No return travel time shall be paid on daily return transportation provided there are no delays such as mechanical breakdown. The Free Zone does not apply when the Employer is providing transportation. All equipment used to transport workers must be suitable and acceptable to trades utilizing such transportation. When the Employees are travelling in a Company service vehicle, all occupants shall be paid at applicable rates and shall be considered working.
