Decreases in FTE Status Clause Samples

The "Decreases in FTE Status" clause defines the procedures and consequences when an employee's full-time equivalent (FTE) status is reduced. Typically, this clause outlines how a reduction in work hours or a shift from full-time to part-time affects the employee's compensation, benefits eligibility, or job responsibilities. For example, it may specify that certain benefits are only available to employees maintaining a minimum FTE threshold. The core function of this clause is to provide clarity and manage expectations for both employer and employee regarding the impact of reduced working hours, thereby minimizing disputes and ensuring consistent application of company policies.
Decreases in FTE Status. Full-Time to Part-Time: Teachers seeking to reduce their full-time assignment to a part-time assignment for the following school year must make a written request, to the Director of Education or designate, prior to February 28. Requests shall be granted where practical, as determined by the Director of Education or designate. Such requests shall not be unreasonably denied. The structure of the reduced assignment must be consistent with the needs of the Board and school, as well as the program and/or schedule of the school.
