Common use of Defined Events Clause in Contracts

Defined Events. Damages which the participant shall become legally liable to pay consequent upon death of or bodily injury to or illness of any person employed under a agreement of service or apprenticeship with the participant, which occurred in the course of and in connection with such person’s employment by the participant within the territorial limits and on or after the retro-active date shown in the statement of cover, and which results in a claim or claims first being made against the participant in writing during the period of cover. The amount payable, inclusive of any legal costs recoverable from the participant by a claimant or any number of claimants, and all other costs and expenses incurred with the company’s consent for any one event or series of events with one original cause or source, shall not exceed the limit of indemnity stated in the statement of cover.
