Common use of Definition of Shift Clause in Contracts

Definition of Shift. 1. For the purpose of layoff and bumping rights only, shift will be defined as day shift and night shift: a) Employees will be considered day shift if the majority of their scheduled hours are between 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. b) Employees will be considered night shift if the majority of their scheduled hours are between 7:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. c) Employees who are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. will be considered night shift and employees who are scheduled for the 3:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. shift will be considered day shift.
